About Our Classes...

We are Claire and Caroline: two speech and language therapists who have been working together in various different ways over the last twelve years. We set up Little Chatterboxes in 2008, following the births of our second children just three weeks apart from each other!

As mothers, we attended a number of parent and child groups, where we enjoyed watching our children learn and play, whilst meeting other parents. Having decided not to go back to our old jobs in a school for children with special needs, we took the opportunity to develop a parent and child group with a difference - targeting those all important early communication skills, whilst having fun.

From their first smile and gurgle to their transformation into Little Chatterboxes, the early years are a magical time for our children. We want the children who come to our groups to enjoy a morning of songs, games, stories and play. We want them to use their imaginations to play and to develop their social confidence. We want them to meet new friends and to explore the world around them. We want them to discover the joy of stories and the pleasure of rhyme and verse. We want them to expand their knowledge of the world and learn new ways to share that knowledge with the important people in their lives. We want them to learn to listen well and to learn to assert themselves and their ideas. We want them to grow up as confident communicators.

We hope that the children, parents, grandparents and carers who come to Chatterboxes enjoy their mornings as much as we do! If you'd like to come along and see for yourself what we do, you would be very, very welcome!
